Material temperature
Material temperature: refers to the temperature of the plasticized material and the temperature of the melt injected from the nozzle. The former is called the plasticizing temperature, and the latter is called the injection temperature.
The temperature of the material depends mainly on the temperature of the barrel and the nozzle.
The material temperature is too low: it is not conducive to plasticization, and the viscosity of the material is also large after melting, so the molding is difficult, and the formed parts are prone to defects such as weld lines, surface dullness and lack of material.

Increasing the material temperature: it is beneficial to plasticize and reduce the melt viscosity, flow resistance or injection pressure loss. The flow and filling condition of the melt in the mold changes (the flow rate increases, the filling time is shortened), and the workpiece is Some performance has many good effects.

The material temperature is too high: it is easy to cause thermal degradation, which in turn leads to poor physical and mechanical properties of the part.

Mold temperature
Mold temperature: refers to the cavity wall temperature in contact with the part.
The mold temperature directly affects the mold filling flow behavior of the melt, the cooling rate of the part, and the performance of the formed part.

The meaning of mold temperature selection:
The mold temperature is selected reasonably and evenly distributed, which can effectively improve the mold filling flow performance, the appearance quality of the parts and some main physical and mechanical properties;
The fluctuation of the mold temperature is small, which will promote the uniform shrinkage of the workpiece and prevent large warpage deformation after demolding.
Increasing the mold temperature: improving the fluidity of the melt in the mold, enhancing the density and crystallinity between the mold and reducing the filling pressure and the pressure in the part; but the cooling time, shrinkage and warping of the part after demolding The warp deformation will lengthen or increase, and the productivity will also decrease due to the extended cooling time. Appropriately increase the mold temperature, the surface roughness of the part will also decrease.

Lowering the mold temperature: shortening the cooling time and increasing the productivity, but if the temperature is too low, the flow properties of the melt in the mold may be deteriorated, and the workpiece may have large stress or obvious weld line defects.
How to control the mold temperature? It is controlled by cooling or heating medium that is passed into its interior (air cooling can be done without any medium when it is not required), and its specific value is the key to determining the cooling rate of the product.

The principle of mold temperature selection or control for various plastics:
In order to ensure the high shape and dimensional accuracy of the workpiece, it is avoided that the warp deformation occurs when the workpiece is demolded or demoulded, and the mold temperature must be lower than the heat distortion temperature of the plastic.

In order to change the flow and filling properties of high-viscosity plastics such as polycarbonate, polysulfone and polyphenylene ether, and strive to obtain a dense structure, a higher mold temperature is required. Conversely, for plastics such as polyethylene, polypropylene, polyvinyl chloride, polystyrene, and polyamides with lower viscosity, lower mold temperatures can be used, which can reduce cooling time and increase production efficiency.
For thick parts, it takes a long time to fill the mold and simmer. If the mold temperature is too low, it will easily cause vacuum bubbles and large stress inside the part, and it is not suitable to use a lower mold temperature.
In order to shorten the molding cycle, two methods can be used to determine the mold temperature. a. Make the mold temperature as low as possible to speed up the cooling and shorten the cooling time. b. Keeping the mold temperature at a state slightly lower than the heat distortion temperature in order to demold the product at a higher temperature and then naturally cooling it, which also shortens the cooling time of the product in the mold. The specific method used depends on the complexity of the plastics and the parts.
