Molecular structure of plastics: The main component of plastics is resin. There are two kinds of kitchen grease: natural resin and synthetic resin.

Composition of plastics: Resin is an indispensable component of plastics. The main function of resin is to bind other components of plastics, and determine the type (thermoplasticity or thermosetting) and main properties of plastics, such as mechanical, physical, electrical and chemical properties. Forming process characteristics of plastics

Shrinkage: Shrinkage is a characteristic of the size change of plastics when they are removed from a hot die and then moved to room temperature. Because the shrinkage rate is not only the thermal expansion and cold contraction of resin, but also related to various forming factors, the shrinkage of plastic parts after forming is called bird forming shrinkage.

Forming shrinkage mainly includes the following aspects

Linear dimension shrinkage of plastic parts: Due to thermal expansion and shrinkage, elastic recovery and plastic deformation of plastic parts during decanting, the size of plastic parts decreases after cooling.

Directionality of shrinkage: Plastics shrink differently in all directions during moulding, resulting in anisotropic properties of plastic parts, large shrinkage and high strength along the direction of material flow, while small shrinkage and low strength along the vertical direction of mass flow.

Post-shrinkage: Plastic forming is affected by forming pressure, shear stress, anisotropy, uneven density, uneven distribution of fillers, uneven die and uneven hardening.

Varieties of plastics: All kinds of plastics have their own shrinkage rates.

The structure of the injection mould is determined by the form of the injection machine and the complexity of the parts. Regardless of its complexity, all injection moulds can be divided into two parts: the movable mould and the fixed mould. The fixed mould is installed on the fixed template of the injection machine, while the movable mould is installed on the movable template of the injection machine. The injection cavity and the pouring system are closed by injection timing and fixing. The injection cavity is separated by opening and fixing, and the plastic parts are taken out.

According to the function of each part on the die, it can be divided into the following parts:

Molded parts: Molded parts are the parts that make up the cavity in the specified and moving parts. Usually it consists of punch (or core), mold, insert and so on.

Pouring system: The pouring system is the passage through which molten plastic flows from the nozzle of the injection machine to the cavity of the mould. It consists of the main channel, the shunt channel, the gate and the cold material hole.

Guide mechanism: The guide mechanism can be divided into two categories: the guide mechanism between the moving die and the fixing die and the guide mechanism of the ejector mechanism. The former guarantees that the dynamic and fixed moulds fit together accurately in order to ensure the accuracy of the shape and size of the plastic parts.

Demoulding mechanism: A device for removing plastic parts from the mould when opening, also known as ejection mechanism. There are many kinds of structures, such as ejector mechanism, ejector mechanism and ejector ejector mechanism.

Lateral parting and core-pulling mechanism: When there are concave and convex holes or convex platforms on the side of the plastic parts, a lateral punch or core is needed to form. Before pushing out the plastic parts in the opening die, the side punch or the side core must be removed or pulled out from the plastic parts before the plastic parts can be released smoothly. The mechanism that makes the lateral punch or the lateral core move is called the lateral core pulling mechanism.

Heating and cooling system: In order to meet the temperature requirement of injection moulds, the temperature of moulds must be controlled, so the moulds are often equipped with cooling system and heating elements are installed inside or around the moulds. Cooling system usually sets up cooling water channel on the mould.

Exhaust system: In the process of injection moulding, in order to exhaust the air in the cavity, it is often necessary to set up an exhaust system. Usually, a number of grooves are purposefully set up on the surface of the mould, or exhaust by using the matching gap between the push rod or the core of the mould and the template. The exhaust volume of small plastic parts is not large, so the parting surface can be directly used for exhaust without additional exhaust groove.
